Introduction

The idea of storing data in the cloud has been with us for a long time. The earliest example of this was the invention of the external hard drive back in the 1950s which allowed people to store their documents and files in what seemed like an infinite storage space. Fast forward to today and we now have access to a whole range of cloud storage services, all promising hundreds and thousands of gigabytes at our fingertips. But what is the future for cloud computing and how can we become more secure as we rely more and more on these services? We take a look at how we got here, where we’re heading, and what it means for your business. What does our future hold as we head into the world of the digital age?

Virtualization has taken the IT industry by storm. It has revolutionized the way we manage our data, applications, and entire infrastructures. As a result of virtualization, the cloud computing era arrived. Cloud computing is an evolving field that holds great potential for the future. Here are some trends or predictions for cloud computing shortly that can change how IT services are managed today.

  •  Increase Storage Capacity
  •  Going serverless
  •  Enhanced Scalability
  •  Easy Access to Data
  •  Modular Softwares
  •  Security
  •  Enhanced Performance of the Internet
  •  Economic

Cloud Computing will gain more momentum as companies use cloud services more. The main advantage of cloud computing is that it is scalable and it allows sharing of computing resources, which will save energy and IT costs. Cloud computing is an approach to distributing computing power and storage to tens, thousands, or millions of users and devices.

Cloud Computing has Several Advantages

Flexible, Scalable, Secure – Flexibility provides companies with easy access to the necessary technology and as an easy way to take advantage of the business. Cloud providers provide a place to keep data safe and allow a flexible system. Secure – It’s difficult to misplace any electronic data in the Cloud. Additionally, the accessibility of the data is very simple.

Cloud computing has many positive aspects. These are the reasons why Cloud computing will be integrated into our lives and how it can influence the future:

1. Easy Access to Data

Some of the prominent cloud computing applications will offer one-click access to user information stored on the cloud. It is an easier way to access information from anywhere, at any time. The users will be able to access their files, email, their applications, or any other information from any corner. With all the storage options, you will be able to store the data securely.

2. Modular Softwares

As humans, we’re always looking for new ways to solve problems. When it comes to software development, the most recent trend is modular software. Modular software is a system that lets users choose and switch different pieces of the program as needed, and it is gaining traction in the industry. Cloud computing is changing the whole game and helping in creating modular software. It has enabled start-ups to grow at an unprecedented rate while also making it easier for established corporations to innovate without breaking their budgets. With cloud computing, building modular software has become easier.

3. Accessing Applications via the Cloud

Cloud Computing has also made some things more efficient. Instead of downloading an application on your computer, there are now cloud-based applications that allow you to use software without having the program installed on your device. Imagine using lots of databases with a laptop of low configurations, we often face performance issues with the laptop, but the same will be hassle-free with the cloud, for example, using databases from cloud service providers like AWS (Amazon Web Services)

4. Storage

In the past, when a company needed to process a lot of data, they would have to buy a large storage device and hire a team of experts to maintain it. The only way that they could access their data was through a physical server, which was very expensive. All of that has changed with cloud computing. The cloud offers a great deal of space and all the resources you need to store your data. This means that you can be more productive with your time, and spend less time worrying about storage or backups. This is a great help for some organizations that have tons of information that needs separate storage from their main server. Hence, in terms of storage, cloud computing might bring a remarkable influence.

5. Reduced Costs

Cloud computing also eliminates hardware costs and saves companies money on equipment purchases and maintenance over the long term, which extends the lifespan of your IT equipment and reduces overall capital expenditure.

6. Speed and Agility

With Cloud computing, the data can be stored in the cloud to analyze the data and to give enhanced performance. The high-quality fast-loading services and applications make the cloud go-to for everyone since this is mostly desired by the users when using an application or any service. Hence, it may provide a faster network  and the transfer and receiving of data will be quick

7. Economic

With cloud computing evolving which uses virtualization, the usage of hardware will be reduced helping the organizations to save the setup costs, also making this eco-friendly with less waste being disposed of. By using cloud computing, we can reduce the amount of electricity used in data centers across the world, hence making this approach eco-friendly.

8. Going Serverless

Going Serverless can be the next evolution of cloud computing, providing ease for most developers.

9. Multi-tenancy

In some cases, multi-tenancy means that a cloud service can access a portion of its resources, processing and storing part or even all of its data in the same way that an enterprise application would utilize the hardware. The benefits normally outnumber costs by a wide margin. It has become so popular in recent years that the term “cloud” has almost exclusively been used to refer to such services.

10. Scalability

Scalability is a feature that is unique to cloud computing. This means that all the data that you keep in the cloud, will be saved on remote servers which will be pretty much accessible from any device or system.  This can then help you to access your data from any device, anytime and anywhere. In this case, scalability also means you can upgrade your storage depending on what you need. If your data exceeds a certain amount of space, you can upgrade your space in the cloud as well. One more major advantage is “pay per use”, which means the user only pays for what he/she uses, in contrast to on-premises centres.

Cloud computing has many positive aspects and will play a big part in today’s technological advances. It is by far the best option for companies to expand their businesses and to provide better results for their clients. It is becoming more and more popular, which is why we are seeing many companies jump on board every month.

The cloud computing market is growing very rigorously, one can say that by simply looking at the market trends and the number of companies and businesses moving towards the cloud. Most of the companies are using CRM software which is cloud-based.

Conclusion

Cloud will be more affordable and flexible and will help create applications and services with a secure environment and organized process. Cloud computing enables the organization to obtain unlimited resources on any device without the requirement to install it and expensive hardware. But the Cloud should be secured with the proper software.

Cloud should have security features as the data centres are already distributed to a remote location. The organization should ensure that the privacy of data is maintained by applying the proper encryption and security features.
