In the good old days, wizards mesmerized crowds and held sway over their dominions. The masses believed in the supernatural abilities of shamans, witchdoctors, soothsayers, fortunetellers, magicians, prophets, and, of course, wizards. How else could seemingly superhuman talents be described if not through divine intervention? The good folk of tribal lands, kingdoms, mystical realms, and ancient plans swore by the wizards in their domain.

Our cultural zeitgeist is fascinated by the supernatural; it’s the ethereal realm that transcends our mortal existence. We often wonder about magic – is it real, or is it smoke and mirrors? Biblical references to magical activities have been passed down the line from one generation to the next. Seemingly impossible tasks like parting the sea, drawing water from rocks, or levitating above buildings are truly the stuff of legend. Myths, fables, legends, and fairy tales are often ensconced in the world of wizards and their magical abilities.

Today, we pay homage to the magical powers of the wizards with a virtual rendering of sorts. We begin our foray into this realm with a look at the Power of Merlin Megaways – a sensational tribute to the wizarding world of the most famous alchemist of all time. Surprisingly, it’s a social casino game with spectacular animation, supernatural elements, and extreme volatility. It has all the features, functions, and added extras of a CGI-inspired masterpiece by Hollywood movie moguls.

Dumbledore, the Master Wizard from Harry Potter

Wizards are often associated with tremendous power, as evidenced by their ability to conjure up the supernatural. Think of spirits, fireballs, serpents, and the wrath of Mother Nature herself. There are benign wizards who do good, and there are malicious wizards capable of immense destruction. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter gave us the most iconic character of all time, Dumbledore. The magical abilities of Dumbledore, according to Zelda Dungeon, include a treasure trove of fantastic abilities, notably:

  • The Creator of Unique Spells & Devices
  • Mastery of The Elder Wand
  • Master of Wandless & Nonverbal Magic
  • Proficiency in Occlumency & Legilimency
  • Expert in Transfiguration

No discussion of wizards is complete without an allusion to the great ones. In the entertainment room, wizards are revered by filmgoers. Merlin the Magician, a.k.a. Merlin the Wizard, has resurfaced many times in pop culture. Even more popular than Dumbledore of Harry Potter fame, Merlin was instrumental in assisting King Arthur with the Excalibur Sword. And let’s not forget that the eponymous magician was central to the discovery of the Holy Grail.

We’ve already mentioned Dumbledore come over now it’s time to pay tribute to another legend in the form of Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings. Masterfully performed by Ian McKellen, Gandalf is truly a legendary whiz kid with the wand. Ostensibly one of the most respected wizards of all time, Gandalf reigns supreme. Sauron from the Lord of the Rings trilogy he’s actually a warlock. A frightful character, he so is the seeds of dread in everybody he comes across.

Let’s circle back to Harry Potter for a moment. The legendary Voldemort is a truly horrendous creature. He is averse to love, but his greatest claim to infamy is the death of Dumbledore. He also set about to level Hogwarts to the ground. Outside of this realm, we enter the multi-verse with Stephen Strange.

Doctor Strange a neurosurgeon narcissist found solace in the Himalayas come to becoming a mystical arts master and a sorcerer supreme. And just as quickly, we snap back to the cartoon world Aladdin where Jafar reigns supreme. Recall the genie with the magic lamp? That the world’s most powerful abilities are conjured by a spirit from a golden lamp is simply amazing. Truthfully, nobody disputes the incredible power of Jafar the wizard from Aladdin!
