Vulkanski – Skeptical Answers (Album – Bite)
Genre/Influences: Dark-Techno.
Format: Digital, Vinyl.
Background/Info: Vulkanski is a solo-project of the Georgian DJ and producer Achi Tabukashvili. He previously released the EP “Science Gardens” and now strikes back with his debut album released (again) by the Berliner label Bite.
Content: The Techno influence is for sure rapidly noticeable, but the sound moves further than simply Techno. This is probably the reason why it has been released by a Berliner label; this city remains a reference when it comes to intelligent and visionary Techno music. “Skeptical Answers” sounds somewhat dark, sometimes accomplished with multiple sonic sound treatments and even Industrial elements.
+ + + : I like the diversity of the work and the global approach, which is definitely more than simply Techno music. I like the darker passages and subtle sound manipulations, injecting an atypical touch to the work. “Lynguistic Problem” is an absolute masterpiece.
– – – : The album globally remains Techno driven and I personally would have liked a few more darker cuts featured.
Conclusion: Vulkanski stands for Georgian Techno music with a dark edge.
Best songs: “Lynguistic Problem”, “Nervous Discussions”, “Core Facts”.

Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
