Virgin Vampires – Virgin Vampires (Digital Album – Virgin Vampires)
Based in London, UK, Virgin Vampires remain relatively unknown to the general public. Following the release of several singles, they launched their first album this year. While the group’s name and image might suggest a Punk ethos, their music takes a different direction. The sound is purely Electro, drawing influences from bands like Blutengel and Massive Ego, as well as the EBM genre, particularly evident in some of the menacing bass lines. Personally, I find the harsher EBM elements most appealing. Overall, Virgin Vampires have room for growth in various aspects of their production. The ideas and approach are promising, yet I feel their music could benefit from more passion in the vocals; while the voice is strong, it lacks emotional depth. Additionally, injecting more dynamism into the compositions would elevate their sound further. (Rating:6).

Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
