5. Cliff Martinez – “The Kinck – Season 2” OST

Michael Arthur Holloway: “I absolutely adore the work Cliff Martinez has done for this excellent television series. Marrying minimalistic analog synth pulses to a late 1800’s period-piece medical drama — the setting of which would have no knowledge whatsoever of synthesizers — was an artsy, ballsy move.

It’s chilling how well it works; the music sounds medical, it has the cold precision and sterilized precision of surgical chamber. And yet, it’s also very moving. This is immensely enjoyable whether experienced during the show (which is fantastic, btw) or by itself. This might actually be my favorite music of 2015, overall.”

As Eldrina Mich I work as a go-between and a devil's advocate when it comes to Side-Line. If our own staff needs to be interviewed then ask the questions no one else dares to ask.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
