The Origins of Rock & Its Evolution?

Rock music is the core of popular music from the 1960s to 2000. The 50s was a golden period of Rock and Roll, with Elvis Presley, Little Richards, etc. It is rooted in all music such as R&B, blues, gospel, and country. This transformed into Rock when it was engulfed by it all –with the distinction of the black and white music lines blurred into it. This immersed the American youth and now presents us with an amazing mix of music lines to listen to and follow.

However, rock and roll went down the drain with the famous names leaving the popular music in the hands of funky teen idols like Frankie Avalon and Fabian, who slowly let rock and roll fall from its high-vested throne. They turned rock and roll into a vulgar, coarse, and nothing but a teen fad that left rock music out for the dead. With that, an era ended and another started.

The Beatles and Stones’ 1964 dramatic performance marked the legendary rise of rock music. Moving onto Bob Dylan with his guitar, Motown in Detroit, Brian Wilson in the Beach Boys –uncharted waters that started an amazing new rock and roll following.

With this rock and roll was reborn and ushered into the new era of an adventurous age full of spirit, long hair, guitars, drums, infinite colors aspiring, and many barriers in age-old music broken. It moved to what we know today; there are no exact right words for what rock and roll is. It is what makes us feel hyped; enjoy the rock music we have, mixed with all new amazing beats.

Check out some of the top rock bands that will never disappoint

The Beatles

The Beatles are still listened to and much renowned for their traditional pop fused with classical sounds. They made 12 U.K. studio albums and 17 U.S. studio albums. The majority went onto the top charts. Top notable songs are, “She Loved You” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand”. These made the charts and in the memory of many people for years to come. The Beatles need little words to explain how perfect they were.

Queen

Queen is one of the most influential and well-known British rock bands worldwide. Their fame came during the 70s and the 80s. They released many albums that charted the music albums of the time and sold-out many concerts. The most notable of the performances was the 1985 Live Aid concert, the best rock concert in history. Their song, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Will Rock You”, and “We Are The Champions” are world-famous songs on the lips of many fans. These songs are in the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Pink Floyd

This British Psychedelic band is often seen as the first and most widely known band in the progressive rock band movement. Two of the most notable and remembered albums would be, “The Dark Side of the Moon” and “The Wall”, which have received many awards. “Money” and “Another Brick in the Wall” are two of the best singles from this album. Both made it to the Grammy Hall of Fame too.

The Rolling Stones

English rock band Rolling Stones is one of the most popular and long-lasting rock bands in music history.  They have been together since 1962, and have amazing chart-topping songs like “Paint It Black”, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, and “Sympathy for the Devil”, which has earned them a spot in the rock and roll Hall of Fame and UK Music Hall of Fame. This does say a lot about how they have been a consistent part of people’s memory, especially since the band never broke up.

The Jacksons

We all know about them too. A group of 5 became the first group to land four singles on the Billboard Hot 100’s with their top songs like, “I Want You Back”, “ABC”, “The Love You Save”, and “I’ll Be There”. Their greatest hit was, “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)” which gave rise to Michael Jackson’s career becoming the King of Pop, which ended sadly with his life coming to an end.

End Note

This brings an end to our list of the best and the never-disappointing pop-rock bands that have kept us on our toes ever since their records of accomplishment came out. We remember many of their famous tracks and might have forgotten some of them too.
