About The Ghost Aura
The Ghost Aura is a solo electronic music project founded and led by Atenas G, a Mexican-born artist currently based in London. The project incorporates elements of darkwave, EBM, industrial, and cold wave, creating a distinct and atmospheric sound.
Atenas G’s musical influences are rooted in the underground culture of Mexico City, where she was exposed to the raw emotion and experimental nature of 1980s synth-driven music. This era and cultural backdrop have significantly shaped her artistic identity and creative process.
In 2008, Atenas pursued formal training in music production in Mexico, marking the beginning of her journey into sound design and composition. After relocating to London, her musical pursuits were temporarily set aside as she adapted to a new life. Years later, following the birth of her child, Atenas resumed her creative endeavors, balancing motherhood with her rekindled passion for music. This renewed focus culminated in the launch of The Ghost Aura.
The Ghost Aura serves as both a creative expression and a personal narrative, delving into themes of introspection, emotional depth, and the complexities of human experience. Through this project, Atenas explores the interplay of resilience and vulnerability, producing music that resonates with audiences seeking a connection to the darker facets of the human psyche.

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
