The collective The Brides of the Black Room is back, unveiling their latest single, “One Flash of Light”, which launches on October 11. Known for blending dark electronic sounds with a visually narrative, this artistic group first emerged in 2020, steeped in mystery and cryptic symbolism.

Here’s the video for “One Flash of Light”.

The track is taken from the upcoming second chapter “Commander”, which follows up on “Blood and Fire”. Both albums are presented as chapters or ‘seasons’ with the narrative arc centered around a secret society, once persecuted as witches, who now reclaim their power in service of a higher entity known as “Mother”. Season 1, “Blood and Fire”, introduced the Brides as a trinity of powerful figures wielding ancient rituals and cutting-edge technology.

By the conclusion of the final episode, “Watch Me Burn”, only one member, Lea Alazam, survived a mysterious event. Season 2 begins with Alazam waking up in a surreal state known as Nangijala, as the collective faces new struggles and adversaries.

Musically, The Brides of the Black Room mix dark electronic, industrial, and ritualistic soundscapes, drawing influences from gothic subculture, occult symbolism, and modern electro-pop.

“One Flash of Light” was produced by Lynx, with additional arrangements by Coyote and Lynx, and was written by Ghostheart. The music video for this single was created by EroGuru.

Here’s “Ambulance” from Season 1.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
