Swedish post-punk band Sjöblom signs to COP International
COP International announces us the signing of the Swedish post-punk band Sjöblom. Sjöblom is the brainchild of Johan Sjöblom Eliot, known for his work with Sweden’s post-punk/dark indie act, The Exploding Boy, and Robert Eklind (previously in the goth rock band Malaise).
Sjöblom was featured with the track “Tape” on our free post-punk compilation “Post-Punk (Genesis)” which we released in 2021.
Christian Petke (COP International / GM) says: “I am truly excited to work with Johan and Robert. Their brand of Post-Punk/Pop is a fantastic addition to our roster and is expanding our sound in a wonderful way. My first love was punk/post-punk, and I am thrilled for COP to return to its roots.”
Sjöblom was formed by Johan Sjöblom Eliot in 2016 in Stockholm. Besides being a member of Swedish post-punk band The Exploding Boy, he also played earlier in the indie pop band Prune and the indie rock band Fake Moss. The band’s most recent offering was the June 2023 single “The Storm – The Foreign Resort Remix”.
In short, an excellent addition to the COP International roster.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
