UPDATE: Irish singer Sinead O’Connor has been found after being missing for more than a day, outside of Chicago.

Again disturbing news from Sinead O’Connor. The singer has gone missing after reportedly leaving for a bicycle ride in Chicago yesterday at 6 AM. The police looked into the whereabouts of the 49-year-old singerafter O’Connor posted a rather weird Facebook message to her oldest son, Jake. In that message she is asking him to take custody of her third child, Shane.

Here’s the message she posted:

It’s not the first open letter she posted. On Friday she posted this one addressed to her son Shane:

Just six months ago O’Connor was hospitalised following a lengthy Facebook message indicating that she may have overdosed. In a reaction, Side-Line reader and big Sinead O’Connor fan George Cartland says: “It’s clear that the singer’s mental problems are not over yet, and it’s kinda sad that nobody is preventing her from doing this harm to herself, in public. She deserves way better, if just for her musical genius.” Many will agree with this.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
