Rhyw – Cave Walls / Part Two (Vinyl 12” – Avian)
Genre/Influences: Techno, experimental, IDM.
Background/Info: Alex Tsiridis aka Rhyw strikes back with the second part of “Cave Walls”. The first part was also released on Avian. We get 5 new songs.
Content: The opening cut is an experimental sound collage and a kind of intro to this EP. We next move into dark, technoid grooves. It’s an intelligent and well-crafted production mixed with a few more experimental treatments.
+ + + : I’m not used to hear cheap ‘techno’ music made in Berlin and Rhyw reveals a minimal approach driven by great sound treatments and a dark sphere. There are several great and danceable pieces featured here.
– – – : I would like to hear the tracks even more minimal and IDM-like.
Conclusion: Both “Cava Walls”-EP’s can be seen as a full length album revealing an interesting techno sound from the Berlin.
Best songs: “Happening RN”, “All Structures Are Unstable”.

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
