Revealed: Mark Ruffalo Is The Most Popular ‘Silver Fox’
2022 is almost here. And, if you’re still enjoying the lull after Christmas, we have the perfect plan for you to spend your time.
Whether you’re one to cosy up in front of the TV with a good sitcom, romance or comedy or enjoy stalking your favourite male (or female) on Instagram, we think you’ll love this.
With new TV shows, programmes and series waiting to be revealed in 2022, the experts at Pension Times took the opportunity to identify the most popular ‘silver fox’ based on the number of times they are searched for and Instagram followers to reveal top to tenth place.
And here they are.
OK, we admit. Whilst there might not be a notable search volume behind Mark Ruffalo and Tom Hanks, their Instagram following says otherwise.
With 20,100,000 Instagram followers, it’s safe to say that Mark Ruffalo is comfortably the most popular ‘silver fox’ according to our list of celebs who are in the public eye.
Second is Tom Hanks, boasting 9,300,000 Instagram followers. With 233 posts to surf through, there’s plenty to go around.
Matt Leblanc also made it into the top 3 with a monthly search volume of 110,000 and 7,700,000 Instagram followers. Known for his time in NBC sitcom Friends playing the role of Joey Tribbiani, we think this one is thoroughly deserved.
Other top ‘silver fox’ hunks included Patrick Dempsey, Idris Elba, Eric Dane, and Jeff Goldblum.

Despite not having quite as many Instagram followers, the search volume surrounding David Ginola seemingly increased during his time on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
Entering the castle on 21 November 2021, the famous Ginola went on to spend 20 days in camp before being voted out on 11December. Despite not winning, fans fled to Twitter to express their love for former French footballer.
Even though Ginola may no longer be on our TV every night, you can still see the likes of Matt Leblanc and Idris Elba on your screen, you can see the actor in Luther, The Office and Guerrilla to name a few.
