About Red Lokust

Red Lokust is an American electronic music project founded by Jim Semonik in 2015. The band’s music blends elements of industrial, EBM (electronic body music), and synthpop, creating a unique sound that draws inspiration from the electronic music scene of the 1980s and 1990s.

Jim Semonik, known for his work as a musician, promoter, and organizer within the industrial music community, formed Red Lokust as a solo project to explore his creative vision in electronic music. Prior to Red Lokust, Semonik was involved in various musical endeavors, including serving as a member of the industrial rock band Rein[Forced].

Red Lokust made their debut with the release of their self-titled EP in 2015. Following the EP, Red Lokust released their debut full-length album, “The Repercussions of Shedding Your Skin”, in 2016.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
