Red Lokust – Hope Is The Last Refuge Of The Dying (Digital/CD Album – Distortion Productions)
The duo Red Lokust, made up of experienced musicians Lee Lauer (formerly of Aslan Faction, Killing Opherlia ao) and Jim Semonik (owner of Distortion Productions and member of [Rein]Forced ao), returns this year with their third album. Once again, they skillfully blend Dark-Electro and EBM to explore dark themes, creating a soundscape that’s both intense and atmospheric. The tracks are well-crafted, filled with cold, piercing sounds and leads that occasionally evoke comparisons to Suicide Commando. While the vocals are harsh and aggressive, some of the tracks may not be entirely convincing. Nevertheless, the album features several strong songs that fans of Dark-Electro are sure to enjoy.
