About Prager Handgriff
Prager Handgriff is a German EBM (Electronic Body Music) project formed in 1990 in Witten by Stefan Schäfer (vocals, electronic drums) and Volker Rathmann (keyboards, programming). Initially known as “Der Prager Handgriff,” they later shortened their name to “Prager Handgriff.”
The duo’s music blends EBM, electro, and electropop, characterized by deep German vocals and politically charged lyrics. Their debut album, “Arglistige Täuschung,” released in 1993, established them in the German electronic scene. They followed up with albums like “Täterschaft & Teilnahme” (1994) and “Maschinensturm” (1995).
Over the years, Prager Handgriff has released several albums, including “Schindluder” (1999), “Fossile Brennstoffe” (2000), and “1000 Feuer” (2002). In 2005, they released a best-of double CD titled “Handarbeiten,” reviewing their previous work.
After a hiatus, they returned with “Arbeit, Sport und Spiel” in 2011 and “Roburit” in 2015, marking their 25th anniversary. Their latest album, “Das letzte Gefecht,” was released in 2022, reflecting on contemporary societal issues.

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast.
