Order 89 – Brûle (Album – Icy Cold Records)
Genre/Influences: Post-Punk, Dark-Wave.
Format: Digital, CD.
Background/Info: “Brûle” is the third full length by Parisian (France) based combo Order 89. The album was released by the end of 2023 and features nine songs.
Content: “Brûle” takes us back to Dark-Wave & Post-Punk music. All songs are sung in French injecting a sexy touch to the work. The songs remain rather short, aren’t never too hard but always compelling.
+ + + : This opus sounds like pure nostalgia to me. It feels to me like awakening in the midst of the 80s and listening to French Post-Punk. There was a great scene over there and this album has this nostalgic taste. The songs aren’t innovative at all but carried by low bass lines, great guitar riffs and strong choruses.
– – – : I regret there aren’t more songs featured on “Brûle”.
Conclusion: No nonsense; good-old French Post-Punk.
Best songs: “Perce Brouillard”, “Parfum Douleur”, “Fin Du Monde”.
Rate: 8.

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
