New Kota Kira single out today: ‘Goddexx Complexx’
Based out of Seattle, originally from the Panhandle of Florida, is the Kota Kira project. We first noticed the project when it landed the track “The Temptresses” on the “Re:Mission Entertainment” promo compilation in 2019. Not that that Kota Kira is exactly a newbee, back in time she also had a black metal band called Dekira.
Out now via the Oklahoma City based label Re:Mission Entertainment is the all new single by Kota Kira, titled “Goddexx Complexx”.
On “Goddexx Complexx” Kota Kira blends influences from dance, metal, darkwave and witch house.
Kota Kira explains: “I wanted to create something otherworldly yet intimate and personal. Goddexx Complexx tells the story of one of the hardest moments of my life, when I had to choose between the possibility of losing the life I had or losing the person I was deep down inside. I’m sure many people can relate to the cognitive dissonance and guilt that comes with the struggle of trying to be yourself in a world that you feel out of place in. This song is a message to embrace your inner beauty, your eternal grace no matter the cost.”
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
