Massiv In Mensch – Badminton (Digital Single – Katyusha)
Genre/Influences: EBM, techno-body.
Background/Info: Two years after their last full length album Massiv In Mensch is ready to unleash their newest album. The single “Badminton” is the teaser to this new opus. It’s also available as a CD featuring one single track.
Content: “Badminton” sounds in the purest tradition of Massiv In Mensch; a perfect mix between EBM elements and a more technoid sound research. The song also features a few vocal lines and funny, but cool samplings of slipping sneakers in a sports hall.
+ + + : “Badminton” is a solid appetizer to welcome the new Massiv In Mensch album. I like the solid bass line mixed with the danceable kick and the few vocal lines.
– – – : This is a ‘real’ single featuring only one single song. I would have liked to get at least one extra song and/or alternative edits of “Badminton”.
Conclusion: “Badminton” is a great single and for sure one of the hardest cuts by Massic In Mensch in years.
Best songs: “Badminton”.
Rate: (7½).

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
