Kloob & Onasander – Gloês (Album – Winter Light)
Genre/Influences: Dark-Ambient, Cinematic.
Format: Digital, CD.
Background/Info: After the genius “Mandus Patet”-album (2020) followed the cool “Tempestarii” (2022) Dani Kloob (Spain) and Maurizio Landini (Italy) decided to work again on a new opus. This album is the last chapter of a trilogy inspired by witchcraft.
Content: Next to their respective projects,Kloob and Onasander became an oiled duo which once again are inviting the listener to visit obscure and freaky sound atmospheres. The main difference with previous albums is the explicit ‘horror’ dimension featured here.
+ + + : Kloob & Onasander don’t repeat themselves but clearly went in search of new sound inspiration -while the thematic inspiration remains. And once more they accomplished an overwhelming work revealing an impressive presentation of sounds, noises and effects. The album sounds more Cinematic than previous. It feels apocalyptic through the low sound vibrations creating a feeling of loss and despair.
– – – : Despite of their sound evolution resulting in a fascinating new work, I’m a bit missing the sonic witchcraft of previous works but especially from the debut album.
Conclusion: The trilogy is accomplished and definitely features three albums to discover. I can only hope both artists will be ready to renew their collaboration.
Best songs: “Sarcophagi”, “Passage (From Life To Death)”, “Old Funeral Rites”, “Lamentation”.

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
