Out today on all digital platforms is the second single by the Italian shoegaze / noisepop act Human Colonies, “Wawwwa”. “Wawwa” is taken from the upcoming album “Kintsukuroi” out on 22th September via Custom Made Music (USA), Shore Dive Records (UK) and Waddafuzz Records (IT).

About the new song, the band comments: “The track was inspired by Luca Guadagnino’s series ‘We Are Who We Are’, ‘Wawwa’ is all about self-acceptance. Embracing who you really are is the only way out.”

Formed in Bologna in 2013 and currently based between Valtellina and Mantua, Human Colonies have since the very beginning played with shoegazey sounds and post-punkesque lyrics, resulting in a short demo released in 2013. After performing several live gigs throughout Italy, they recorded a bunch of new songs at VDSS Recording Studio run by Filippo Strang. That’s how “Big Domino Vortex” came to life.

Their first full-lenght album “Midnight Screamer” followed in 2018. The same year the band toured in various clubs and festivals around Italy. In November 2019 Human Colonies released the new EP “Cloudchaser and Old Songs” for MiaCameretta / Lady Sometimes.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
