Sheffield-based dark electro band IAMIMPERFECT has released their debut EP, “Reincarnate”. This introduction offers a blend of darkwave, synthpop, industrial, and goth genres, augmented by complex synth arrangements, electronic drums, distorted guitars, and vocal harmonies.

Thematically, “Reincarnate” explores intense subjects such as addiction, insecurity, depression, anxiety, and fear, culminating in a message of growth and renewal.

“Reincarnate” is now available across major digital platforms, including Bandcamp and Spotify.

About IAMIMPERFECT

IAMIMPERFECT is the duo of Paul Jackson (vocals, synths, programming) and Kelly Dorset (guitars). Formed in the northern city of Sheffield, the project began as Paul transitioned away from his previous guitar-heavy project, Paul Venkman, and shifted toward a more synth-driven sound. In 2022, Kelly, formerly of The Way Of All Flesh, contributed guitar to Paul’s new tracks, which quickly shaped the new direction of the project.

By mid-2023, IAMIMPERFECT began rehearsing for live performances. They opened Saturday night at the Ravenspurgh Online Goth Festival and supported Byronic Sex & Exile during their “Stage Fright Tour” in Leeds.

In 2024, the band released their first single, “Static & Feeling”, accompanied by a launch gig in their hometown. IAMIMPERFECT promises more releases throughout the remainder of the year.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
