Forndom releases new LP ‘Moþir’ through Nordvis Produktion
Swedish artist Ludvig Swärd, the creative force behind Forndom, has released his latest album, “Moþir”, under the Nordvis Produktion label. Known for his ability to weave ancient Scandinavian themes into his music, Swärd delivers an acoustic journey tackling creation, destruction, and renewal. The album is available now on vinyl, CD, and digital platforms.
“Moþir” serves as a thematic counterpart to Forndom’s previous release, “Faþir”, exploring the complexities of feminine deities and their relationship with humanity. Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology, the album reflects on humanity’s place in the eternal cycles of life and death.
Below is the lead single “Tunridor”.
Although Forndom offers a style deeply rooted in Nordic folk and ambient music, blending traditional Scandinavian instrumentation with atmospheric soundscapes; for this new album Swärd deliberately avoided modern elements, focusing instead on an acoustic sound that he describes as timeless. “Like my previous albums, this one follows the cycle of life, beginning in darkness and chaos and ending in a grand crescendo, followed by silence,” Swärd explained.
The production features contributions from Thomas von Wachenfeldt on violin, Janne Posti on choral vocals, and Draugurinn. Swärd recorded and mixed the album himself.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
