Execunit returns with ‘Rust’ single – Out now on the Danish label Town And Towers Records
Out now is the single “Rust” (and the video for the track) by the Swedish alternative electronic/industrial synthpop act Execunit. Execunit, signed with the Nordic synth label Town And Towers Records, embarks here on a musical venture characterized by a blend of melodic industrial synthpop.
Originating from Sweden, Execunit’s music adopts a retro-futuristic approach, envisioning a dystopian future where humanity is subjugated by machines. The project was initiated in 2022 by Andreas Rimheden — known for his involvement in electronic music projects like Eternity Range and the 90s dark electronic underground band Morticians.
As far as the concept Rimheden is drawing inspiration from the dystopian outlooks featured in retro sci-fi films and their soundtracks by composers such as John Carpenter, alongside the robotic tunes of Kraftwerk and the abrasive electronic sounds of early industrial music.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
