The UK-based gothic industrial/rock band, Deadfilmstar have released a brand new single, “Welcome Back”. The track is taken from their forthcoming album, “Knowing When To Bow Out”. The track offers the more electronic side of the band’s sound featuring synth-driven soundscapes layered over harsh industrial guitars.

Gary Mobley explains the story behind ‘Welcome Back’ like this: “It is about an old friend. He and I started out in bands together, both chasing the cliché rock ‘n’ roll dream. However, I was quickly confronted with the reality that, in my view, rock ‘n’ roll was just a business model. He, on the other hand, chose to believe it was much more and adopted the lifestyle to match. Eventually, we no longer saw eye to eye and went our separate ways. Years ago, I heard reports that the lifestyle had ultimately claimed his life, but I still wonder if those reports were wrong and if he’ll just show up one day, out of the blue.”

“Welcome Back” is available on all major digital platforms.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
