The Chilean industrial electro-rock act Demonic Reason Againt God (D.R.A.G.) has just released a new single, “Stained Black”. Since their debut in 2016 with the EP “Decadence”, the band has been quite prolific and now after a brief break from the studio, they are back with new material.

Thematically the single delves into the age-old dilemma of whether “the end justifies the means” in the pursuit of desires.

The band says: “It explores the struggle to pursue our passions despite the twists of fate; to remain true to ourselves even when others demand conformity; to stand firm, even as the world tries to bring us to our knees. We also seek to emphasize the importance of maintaining a solid personal identity, particularly in a world where mental health has become an urgent concern.”

Solange Bonnassiolle adds: “It is worth fighting against everything, even if it means living a double life and staining your soul black. It’s a risk we must take to preserve our essence.” She further explains: “Stained Black is more than a song—it’s a reaffirmation of our artistic commitment beyond music. It’s a bold opportunity to stain our project with black, redefining it with an intensity that amplifies the dark, hidden essence we’ve pursued since our inception.”

The single was mixed and mastered by Felipe Fernández and produced by Rodrigo Guevara.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
