(Photo by Dori Hrisztu-Pazonyi) The Hungarian electro-pop noir duo Black Nail Cabaret have released the song “Roadtrip” as the second single from their forthcoming new album, “Chrysanthemum”, which is set for release on 1st March.

Black Nail Cabaret singer Emèse Árvai-Illes states that “I refer to the Hungarian psychologist Dr. Mihály Domján in regard to this song. He held that pain travels in the family tree until it finds someone who is introspectively ready to embrace it fully, to understand it and change it. In recent years I realised how important it is not to lose faith that I can be this person.”

“Roadtrip” is the follow-up to “Autogenic”, which was released in early December 2023. Below is the audio only video for “Roadtrip” followed by the “Autogenic” video.

“Chrysanthemum” is the sixth full-length record by Black Nail Cabaret and will be promoted with a UK tour holding eight shows with Empathy Test.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
