Belgian cult goth / coldwave act The Breath Of Life releases 40-track strong anthology on Bandcamp – out now
Out now via Bandcamp is “Echoes Of Time – A 39-Year Musical Anthology” by the belgian cult goth / coldwave act The Breath Of Life. The release comes as they prepare the release of their 11th album.
On this 40-track strong compilation the band delivers a nice overview of their career which started in 1985. The release features rare gems and unreleased material that unveils the band’s evolution—from the raw energy of early demo tapes to the slick sound of their most recent digital single. Also included is a cover of David Bowie’s “Ashes To Ashes”.
In 2023, the band joined forces with the newly minted Spleen+ division of the Belgian Alfa Matrix label. Their first label release is the recently released EP “Down We Go”. Anno 2024, The Breath Of Life are Isabelle Dekeyser (vocals), Philippe Mauroy (guitar, drums programming), Giovanni Bortolin (violin, keyboards) and Didier Czepczyk (bass).
The Bandcamp version comes with a 40-page booklet holding exclusive band photos and insights into the band’s career.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
