Genre/Influences: Dark-Rock, Goth-Rock.

Format: Digital, CD.

Background/Info: This is the seventh full length album by former ALSO member Alexander Dust. It’s the seventh full length album released by the German multi-instrumentalist. Painful Scream Records is his own label.

Content: The songs are diversified, but mainly driven by Dark-Rock and Goth influences. Alexander Dust created his own sound, which he masterly accomplished with an impressive arsenal of instruments; playing electric- & acoustic guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, flute, keyboards, percussion and ao. And he’s singing as well, in a rather passionate way.

+ + + : I deeply respect and salute the performance of this artist who might consider himself as a real musician in the truest sense of the word. I especially like some of the guitar parts wherein he succeeds in putting on a similar passion as in the vocals. Some passages are pure drama and even a bit theatrical. Just pay attention to “The Party’s Over”, which has a true elevating effect emerging from the guitar playing.

– – – : The sound is not that easy to define and not totally belonging to one established genre.

Conclusion: This album is an easy and pleasant to listen to.

Best songs: “The Party’s Over”, “Valentines For Memories”, “Now Watch Out”.

Rate: 7.

Inferno Sound Diaries
I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
