This year, Tony Young celebrates the 20th anniversary of his sonic project, Autoclav1.1. Over the past two decades, he has crafted stunning albums released on renowned labels such as Crunch Pod, Tympanik Audio, WTII Records, and, more recently, Audiophob. His latest work offers an intimate glimpse into the British artist’s childhood, reflecting his thoughts and experiences from that time -beautifully expressed through evocative track titles and an eclectic Electro production. The album seamlessly blends Young’s signature influences, from his familiar IDM roots to Cinematic and Ambient elements. The tracklist is thoughtfully arranged, starting with eerie, Ambient compositions and gradually building toward more danceable pieces in the latter half. Pulsing beats invite listeners to move, while the intricate and nuanced arrangements reward attentive ears. Listeners will encounter deep, resonant basslines and witness the meticulous craftsmanship with which Young builds and evolves his tracks. While Autoclav1.1’s sound has become slightly less dark and more atmospheric, the album remains a captivating experience,  offering a glimpse into the unique sonic world Tony Young has cultivated over two decades. (Rating:8).

Inferno Sound Diaries
I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
