Silent State Recordings to reissue Pete Namlook / Morris ‘Dreamfish’ LP on double vinyl in 2025
The small Frankfurt-based independent record label Silent State Recordings, run by Nils Wortmann, is dedicated to unearthing some forgotten and/or buried ambient work from Pete Namlook whose master rights the label acquired in 2021.
7th February 2025 will see the pre-order of the re-release of the ambient classic “Dreamfish”, a collaboration between British DJ Mixmaster Morris (Morris Gould) and German electronic composer Pete Namlook (Peter Kuhlmann).
The re-release will be out as a double gatefold LP. Below are the tracks you can expect on this vinyl release.
Released in 1993 on Namlook’s label, FAX +49-69/450464, the album offers deep, immersive soundscapes spread over four expansive tracks. The duo of Dreamfish also recorded a second installment in 1995, called “Dreamfish 2”. Initially, “Dreamfish” was released in a limited edition, making original copies highly sought after by collectors. The album has since been reissued, including a remastered edition by Avatar Records. “Dreamfish” is available for streaming and purchase on various platforms, including Bandcamp.
With this new vinyl edition in 2025 we’ll get the most definitive version. Make sure to already follow the Dreamfish Bandcamp page to get the news of the pre-order launch first.

About Pete Namlook
Pete Namlook, born Peter Kuhlmann on November 25, 1960, in Frankfurt, Germany, was a pioneering ambient and electronic music composer and producer. He founded the influential record label FAX +49-69/450464 in 1992, which became a cornerstone for ambient and electronic music releases.
The pseudonym “Namlook” is a phonetic reversal of his surname, “Kuhlmann”.
Namlook’s music drew inspiration from artists such as Eberhard Weber, Miles Davis, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Chopin, Wendy Carlos, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, and notably Klaus Schulze. Throughout his career, he released numerous solo albums and collaborated with artists like Klaus Schulze, Bill Laswell, Geir Jenssen (Biosphere), Gaudi, Richie Hawtin, Tetsu Inoue, Uwe Schmidt (Atom™), Amir Abadi (Dr. Atmo), and David Moufang (Move D).
By August 2005, Namlook and his collaborators had released 135 albums, excluding re-releases and compilations.
Tragically, Peter Kuhlmann passed away on November 8, 2012, after suffering a heart attack.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
