Motor!k – 5 (Digital/CD/Vinyl – Out Of Line)
The Belgian trio Motor!k returns with their fifth EP, simply titled “5”. Featuring Joeri Dobbeleir, Dries D’Hollander, and Belgian Electro/Industrial legend Dirk Ivens, the EP offers 6 brand-new tracks. Stylistically, the band stays true to their established sound, delivering pure instrumental music often classified as Krautrock. The EP blends psychedelic guitars, dynamic drum sections, and mesmerizing electronic elements into a captivating, almost transcendental experience. Despite its dark, powerful atmosphere and psychedelic undertones, “5” feels more suited for wild dancing than laid-back lounging. With the exception of one weaker track, the EP delivers some of the band’s strongest material yet, making “5” arguably Motor!k’s best release to date. (Rating:8½).
