CBD Oil 101: Dosage, Uses, and Myths Debunked

There is more misinformation and arguably a greater number of myths surrounding CBD oil than the Kennedy assassination! The fact that cannabidiol has become one of the most popular products in the health and wellness industry has done little to change this issue. Indeed, it is likely that the opposite is true, as disreputable companies do their best to deceive consumers.

In this article, I aim to fight back against this rising tide of nonsense by providing you with relevant, accurate information about CBD oil. Let’s begin.

Common Myths About CBD Oil

Before delving into the different reasons why people use CBD oil and some information on dosage, I’m going to debunk some pretty pernicious myths about the product.

CBD Causes You To Get High

For the 456th time, CBD oil does not lead to an intoxicating high! You are getting it confused with THC, which is abundant in marijuana. Top-rated brands get their CBD from the hemp plant and ensure it contains only a tiny amount of THC. As long as the company in question can produce third-party lab reports showing the low THC content, you should be fine.

Of course, there is data that shows products are often mislabelled, which makes these reports even more crucial.

CBD Is a Panacea

I wish I could say this is true, but it isn’t. This is why it’s so maddening to see brands claim that their CBD oil can “cure,” “treat,” or “diagnose” medical conditions. The reality is a LOT of research is needed to discover the full benefits of the cannabinoid.

As you’ll see later, it could have a host of benefits, but we don’t have nearly enough data to draw conclusions at this point. In reality, CBD oil doesn’t work for everybody, but you’ll need to try it to find out.

More Is Better

This isn’t true at all! In fact, anecdotal reports suggest that the law of diminishing returns certainly applies to CBD oil. What you need to do is use a small amount at first to see how it impacts you. Gradually increase the amount you consume until you get to a point where the benefits become noticeable.

According to many users, the benefits don’t become any greater once you increase the dose far beyond this point. Also, excessive consumption of CBD oil could result in side effects such as diarrhoea!

Why Do People Use CBD Oil?

There are many reasons why people use CBD hemp oil. At present, the #1 reason is pain management. A growing number of users claim that the cannabinoid helps them manage the pain of conditions such as arthritis and migraine. For them, CBD oil is a better option than addictive opioids.

You may also find that CBD oil can help alleviate stress and anxiety. There is evidence that it interacts with our brain’s serotonin receptors, which leads to a greater feeling of calm. As such, you may want to consider using it if you have an issue such as social anxiety or generalized anxiety disorder.

If you have difficulty sleeping, you may find that CBD oil is worth using, too. The fact it helps you feel calm may ensure that you relax enough to fall asleep. Users also suggest that the cannabinoid ensures they enjoy longer, higher-quality sleep than normal.

How Much CBD Oil To Use?

It is difficult to say because the “optimal” dose varies from one person to the next. Factors such as weight, metabolism, and medical conditions can influence the effects of CBD oil. As such, beginning with a small dose of around 5mg per day is probably the best course of action if you’re a CBD novice.

Make sure you monitor how you feel after using the cannabinoid and adjust the dosage up or down as needed.

Final Thoughts on CBD Oil Myths, Uses, and Dosage

So, there you have it. CBD oil will not cause you to feel an intoxicating high as long as you buy it from a reputable brand that follows the rules. It is not a cure-all, and it is unwise to begin with larger amounts as the key is to begin with a smaller dose to see how the cannabinoid affects you.
