Swedish industrial act Morlocks return with 3rd album in 22 years: ‘Praise the Iconoclast’
(Photo by Krichan Wihlborg) Out on October 6th is the the brand new album from Sweden’s industrial rock act Morlocks: “Praise the Iconoclast”.
The Gothenburg-formed Morlocks are kinda legendary in Sweden as far as music goes but also because they managed to release 2 full length albums in 22 years only: “…For your Pleasure?” (2001)’ and “The Outlaw of Fives” (2011).
On “Praise the Iconoclast” you’ll also hear guest vocal appearances from KMFDM’s Sascha Konietzko, Karin My, and black metal vocalist Heljarmadr of Grá/Dark Funeral.
Morlocks has had a constant change of members over the years. In 2003, the then only remaining founding member J.Strauss teamed up with partner in crime Innocentius Rabiatus from Swedish goth veterans Dark Side Cowboys. In 2013 they met, befriended and recruited the bass player/vocalist Lamashtu and the trio has been the core of the band ever since.

Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
