(Photo by Vedran Brnjetic) The gothic metal band Sidewalk Mafia (Finland) released a new single, “Hummingbird”. The single is out via the Italian label Sliptrick Records.

“Hummingbird” is the second single from the band’s upcoming album, and it represents the album’s most melodic section besides the familiar Sidewalk Mafia elements. Singer-guitarist Tommy says: “The song’s idea and topic came to me last summer, when I was talking in the middle of the night with my good friend about failures, wrong choices, wrong behavior and the fears and the feelings of being left alone. These things stuck in my mind, and the next day I made this song in one sitting, which is not always the most typical way of working for me”

Based in Helsinki, Finland, Sidewalk Mafia was founded in 2020 by vocalist/guitarist Tommy Angelov and drummer/vocalist Johannes Wolfpathon. The band released their debut full-length album “72 Hours” as a digital version in May 2022 also via the Italian label Sliptrick Records.

Sidewalk Mafia are: Tommy Angelov on vocals/guitars, Johannes Wolfpathon on drums/vocals and Tom O´Valley on bass.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
