Synta[xe]rror – (.)/dot (Album – Zoharum)
Genre/Influences: IDM, Minimal-Electro.
Format: Digital, CD.
Background/Info: Synta[xe]rror is a Polish duo driven by Bartosz ‘Kostia’ Jakubicki and Artur ‘Blacha’ Błaszczyk. They released two official albums (cf. Abyad” in 2006 and “Final” in 2007) and now strikes back after a serious hiatus of time with their third full length opus.
Content: “(.)/dot” is a sophisticated work of modern Electronic music. The songs reflect an impressive arsenal of influences and Electro styles. Industrial sound treatments are coming together with Glitch fragments while Minimal-Electronics and Cinematographic music can be heard at other tracks. You’ll also discover a few harder cuts, which are into accessible IDM polished with subtle sequences.
+ + + : This album sounds a bit as a summary of intelligent Electro-underground music. There are many influences, leading both protagonists to create an impressive sonic canvas. Behind the complexity of the writing process also hides an intelligent approach illustrated by great sound treatments, terrific effects and danceable tracks. Synta[xe]rror sounds as Electro ambassadors of the modern age. There’re several outstanding pieces featured, but I want to mention “Chemical Instability” and “Going Insane”.
– – – : The complexity of the composition doesn’t result in a pretty accessible work so you definitely need a few listening to realize the genius of this work.
Conclusion: Synta[xe]rror has evolved in style and influences, accomplishing a visionary Electro masterpiece!
Best songs: “Chemical Instability”, “Going Insane”, “A Wakeful City”, “Dot Work”.
