Invisible Network – Overview Effect (EP – Digital Dependency Records)
Genre/Influences: EBM, Cinematographic.
Format: Digital.
Background/Info: Invisible Network is a new project and side-project of the UK formation K-Nitrate. This is the band’s debut EP featuring three songs, which seem to be inspired by astral themes.
Content: The songs are instrumental edits, revealing a mix between EBM elements and cinematographic music. The rhythmic sounds linear, but dense. The more elaborated “Alpha Magnetic” reminds me a bit of soundtrack music composed by Frontline Assembly.
+ + + : “Overview Effect” is not exactly what I would call a project that will catch many fans by its debut. It will for sure appeal for EBM lovers, but it’s not the kind of music DJ’s are going to play to set dancefloors on fire. But I like the elaborated writing and the mix of EBM and soundtrack music is pretty original. “Alpha Magnetic” and “Deflecting Disaster” both are cool songs.
– – – : The sound formula is rather similar for the three songs, but let’s waits for more stuff to get an idea about the potential of this new formation.
Conclusion: Invisible Network has accomplished an interesting EBM-soundtrack inspired work.
