Noize-Maker – Components (EP – I-Traxx Recordings)
Genre/Influences: Minimal-techno, techno-body.
Format: Digital.
Background/Info: Operating from Cologne (Germany) Achim Loevenich is already involved with music for quite a long time. Active under the Noize-Maker moniker, “Components” is the artist’s new works featuring three tracks plus one remix.
Content: “Components” is not just techno music. This techno format has a very minimal approach and especially the vintage-like sound treatments have something pretty 80s like. The title track is very minimalistic while the remix by Amour noir has something more experimental. The hardest cut is for sure “Elephant Tribe” while the final cut (cf. “Createur”) has been accomplished by icy sound treatments.
+ + + : I’ve always been addicted to minimal electronic creations and especially when revealing some vintage sound treatments reminding me of the good-old analogue productions. “Components” is a cool song, but there’s also something to say about the more bouncing “Elephant Tribe” and the darker and cold sounding “Createur” featuring a few (sampled) words.
– – – : There’s no absolute hit featured on this EP, but the three original songs are just cool. The remix is the only cut that couldn’t entirely convince me.
Conclusion: If you don’t know Noize-Maker yet, “Components” will serve as the perfect introduction and sounds as the right stuff to bring the darkest techno floors to dance!
Best songs: “Elephant Tribe”, “Components”.
