Genre/Influences: Dark-electro, EBM.

Background/Info: Alien Produkt is a band from Buenos Aires (Argentina), which was set up at the end of the 90s. They released two albums on BLC Productions followed by two EP’s released on Advoxya Records. “Resurrection” is an appropriate title for an opus that has been released nearly ten years after their last work.

Content: Alien Produkt is perfectly merging EBM and dark-electronics together. The songs are danceable, constantly driven by sequences with sharp tones and harsh vocal in Spanish. The songs are mixing vintage elements together with a contemporary touch.

+ + + : You can hear that this band has some maturity. The global songwriting and sound production both are really professional. A song such as “Electro Revolution” is a little sonic jewel and a potential hit. There’s a judicious balance between pure retro elements and something contemporary. Alien Produkt strikes back with style and efficiency.

– – – : The only single point that hurts is the similarity between all songs. The sound formula is great, the song writing is excellent, but there’s less diversity between the songs.

Conclusion: Alien Produkt is back with an interesting work featuring great songs, but not enough diversity.

Best songs: “Electro Revolution”, “Mix Of Imperfections”.

Inferno Sound Diaries
I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
