Paranoia Inducta – From The Depths (CD Album – Rage In Eden)

Background/Info: Polish artist ‘Antony Armageddon Destroyer’ is a real prolific and creative artist. He’s active in different projects while he already released a considerable number of productions as Paranoia Inducta. “From The Depths” however is his first work on Rage In Eden.
Content: There’s a dark-ambient basis running through this album, which has been completed by other influences such as ritual passages, industrial percussion, field recordings and different kinds of vocal effects. You’ll notice vibrating throat-like sung parts, but also epic chants and even female heavenly passages. The vocals create an extra dimension to this album.
+ + + : The vocals have a real important impact on this production. I always have been fascinated by throat singers and there are a few experiments in the genre running through this work. The vocals are more like a kind of extra effects and a way to reinforce the global ambient feeling supporting this work. It creates certain harmony with the experimental electronic treatments and other industrial elements. There also is a noticeable ritual element, which goes further than great church chants and other carrion passages. It’s all about the global atmosphere this work has been recovered with. “My Own Purgatory” is a great cut in the genre, but my real favorite is “Witchtrap” for the great chants and epic approach. Last, but not least I also have to say a word about the artistic DVD-digipak format of this album.
– – – : There are a few cuts which can’t convince me for sounding unachieved, but you don’t hear me to complain. The debut is somewhat hesitant, but the album rapidly becomes a great experience in sound.
Conclusion: “From The Depths” is the right title for an album that will progressively bring you into a sonic inferno of cold and tormented passages. This work will bring your fear and terror as an antidote to happiness and you know what?; I like it!
